High-grade materials, perfect workmanship: This is the basis for the excellent quality of our products.

Tubing and press-formed components in mild steel
Mainly the following materials:
• DD11 (1.0332) to DIN EN 10111
• DD13 (1.0335) to DIN EN 10111
• DC01 (1.0330) to DIN EN 10130
• DC04 (1.0338) to DIN EN 10130
Corrosion protection through powder coating, priming (spray painted) or hot-dip galvanizing

Flanges and mounting brackets in structural grade carbon steel
S235JR (1.0038) to DIN EN 10025-2
Corrosion protection through powder coating, priming (spray painted) or hot-dip galvanizing
Tubing and press-formed components in stainless steel
Suitable for moderate to medium corrosive environmental conditions (CRC 2 to DIN EN 1993-1-4).

Primarily for use in the food industry. Mainly the following materials:
• 1.4301 (X5CrNi18-10), AISI 304, ASTM A240, A480, A 666
• 1.4307 (X2CrNi18-9), AISI 304L, ASTM A240, A480, A 666
To restore the corrosion resistance and to create a uniform surface finish, these materials are CrNi-blasted as standard.

Stainless steels for higher corrosive environmental conditions (CRC 3 to DIN EN 1993-1-4).
Primarily for use in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry.
• 1.4404 (X2CrNiMO17-12-2) AISI 316L, ASTM A 240
• 1.4571 (X6CrNiMoTi17-12-2), AISI 316Ti, ASTM A 240
As standard, components are pickled in a bath and passivated by storing in the open air to restore their corrosion
resistance. Prices and delivery time on request. Other materials that are not explicitly mentioned can also be
offered after examining their processability.

Corrosion protection


To prevent damage due to corrosion in mild steel, our components are protected to enable them to withstand the general ambient conditions.

JACOB has different product groups available for the mild steel modular tubing system: powder-coated, spray primed or galvanized components.

Corrosion protection through powder coating or spray priming
Powder coating:
• Pretreatment: Thin film iron phosphate coating
• Powder coating primer from ND 2¼” to 25″
• Silk gloss, smooth polyester resin binder-based powder coating
• Its constituents comply with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements of regulation
21 CFR 175.300 for direct contact with food
• Temperature resistance: from -76 F to +248 F
• Electrostatically conductive
• Color similar to RAL 7032 (pebble gray)
• Coating thickness on the outside: average layer thickness 55 μm
• Coating thickness on the inside: optically covered as temporary corrosion protection

Priming (spray painted):
• Generally used with tubing > ND 25″
• Inner and outer priming
• Coating thickness: average layer thickness 45 μm
• Color similar to RAL 7032 (pebble gray)

More colors:
• Choose from more than 3,000 color and effect variations
• Final outside painting of tubing components and pressed components in a coating thickness
of approx. 80 μm

• Structured coatings and high-gloss effects
• UV protection
• Inner coating free from spray mist possible at additional cost with spray priming

Corrosion protection through hot-dip galvanization
• Tubing components described as “galvanized” are all hot-dip galvanized
• Hot-dip galvanizing to DIN EN ISO 1461
• Average layer thicknesses (minimum values) depend on the thickness of the steel:
–– <16 gauge: 45 μm

–– ≥16 to ≤11 gauge: 55 μm
–– ≥11 to ≤2 gauge: 70 μm
• Temperature-resistant to 248°F
• During hot-dip galvanization, irregularities may occur in the color and structure of the surface

Corrosion protection through galvanization
• E.g. for pull rings, air regulators, ball joints and other accessories
• Galvanization according to DIN 50979 Fe//Zn8//An//T0 colorless to iridescent color
• Layer thickness approx. 10 μm
• Temperature-resistant to 248°F
