As far as foods and other sensitive products are concerned, there is no compromising: no foreign bodies or substances are tolerated. This is where the JACOB FOOD GRADE line triumphs. It is the first modular tubing system to comply with the requirements of EC 1935/2004 and FDA regulations. In combination with DETECTABLE DESIGN, JACOB ensures absolute purity in your production line. Anything else is out of the question!

Highest Standards for sensitive Industries

When it comes to food, pharmaceutical and chemical products and other sensitive goods, the highest standards for safety and cleanliness must be met. JACOB meets this challenge with its JACOB FOOD GRADE line. Only products that are ideal for transporting hygiene-sensitive products carry our FOOD GRADE label. Our FOOD GRADE line is a modular stainless-steel tubing system consisting of over 3,000 products that meet the high requirements of the food industry. Our engineering experts have carefully tested all components that come into contact with food and have optimised their design and the material used.

Carefully selected materials

Our FOOD GRADE line components that come into contact with the product are made exclusively of stainless steels featuring a minimum grade of V2A/1.4301. This applies down to the last detail, such as the smallest screws. Our vulcanised U-shaped seals are made without adhesives. They meet the European regulations EC 1935/2004 as well as the American food standards stipulated by the FDA and are highly resistant to mechanical loads, high temperatures, chemicals, and solvents. Wherever possible, we refrain from using adhesives. Where this is not possible, we use food grade adhesives.

For Südzucker, JACOB worked in collaboration with its distributor Kastenmüller, a specialist in mill and silo construction, to develop a custom distribution system. The task: Granulated sugar needed to be evenly distributed to the 12 outlets of a screening machine. All the components had to meet the specifications of EC 1935/2004, as well as American FDA food standards. The seals had to be detectable by metal detectors in order to ensure absolute product purity.

Bühler

Bühler’s Bakery Innovation Center (BIC) covers a complete range of bakery processes – from conception to production. Tubes and components from JACOB were used for bulk material handling and exhaust air aspiration. Because the systems in question are used for processing foodstuffs, all the components used are from the particularly high-quality FOOD GRADE line. These fulfil the requirements of EC 1935/2004 and the FDA. Also part of the system: the blue Ushaped seals, which are metal detectable thanks to incorporated metal particles.
